Presentation of target professions

The Southern Region is strongly committed to continuing education and supports the development of the film and audiovisual industry, by including modular training courses in the Regional Continuing Education Program.

✓ Presentation of the profession / targeted professions :

The Métiers du cinéma FIF introductory courses enable students to acquire basic skills with a view to continuing on to a training course leading to a qualification (Titre RNCP) or direct access to on-set jobs (Stage Management Assistant, Production Assistant, Make-up Assistant) or Post-Production Assistant.

The stage management team is like the orchestra conductor on a film set. They are in charge of coordination and logistics to ensure that everything runs smoothly. They make sure that sets, costumes, props and equipment are ready for shooting. During the shoot, she is responsible for the team’s safety and the smooth running of operations. If problems arise, she’s there to find quick and efficient solutions. She manages crew schedules, organizes meals and travel.

The production team is one of the key players in the film industry. Its mission is to manage the production of a film, from project development to theatrical release. The production administration team handles payroll and billing, as well as crew follow-up. It also manages the various declarations and authorizations with the stage management team.

The make-up team transforms actors according to the director’s instructions. These creative professionals bring imaginary characters to life for film, theater or live performance. After reading the script for a film or the libretto for a play, and discussing it with the director, the make-up artist applies the required emotions to a face or body. He or she can also create special effects (injuries, aging…) using prostheses and various make-up effects.

The post-production team edits images and sound for films, documentaries, news reports and broadcasts, using shooting rushes and archive material, according to the artistic intentions defined in advance. She organizes the image and sound follow-up and coordinates proper execution. She integrates music, sound effects and post-synchro, as well as motion design and digital special effects.
